Tesla Motors and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream have teamed up to promote action on climate change. The “Save our Swirled” campaign encourages people to sign an Avaaz organized petition to have global leaders commit to a complete (100%) transition away from fossil fuels by 2050.
Save our Swirled will travel the United States, coast to coast, in a converted Tesla Model S. The vehicle has a fresh paint job and the rear seats have been removed to accommodate freezers full of ice cream. It will make its first stop in San Diego at the beginning of April, handing out ice cream and collecting signatures for the petition. Leaders at Tesla and Ben and Jerry’s are hoping that Save our Swirled will contribute to the goal of collecting 3,000,000 signatures. The petition will be presented to delegates at this year’s climate summit in Paris.
