Are we "walking the talk"? Pembina's reaction to Minister Kent

On November 8th, Minister Kent addressed the Toronto Economic Club with a speech on Canada's progress regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation.  Minister Kent impressed upon the audience the importance of addressing this serious issue even in a tumultuous economic climate as effective climate change plans will lead to a healthier economy and society.  Although these are positive statements that do describe movement toward stability, the Pembina Institute (a leading, Canadian organization in climate change issues) is somewhat skeptical of the merit and credibility of the Minister's speech.  A recent press Pembina release asks the question of our government: are we walking our talk?  Can we claim that we are taking climate issues seriously when we are not truly fulfilling our commitments to this global crisis?
