The following is a list of online resources produced by partners of the MC3 and other organizaitions focused on exploring best strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
 

  • COST (intergovernmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology) has committed to a four year research effort on the social sciences aspects of climate change adaptation and mitigation, focusing on knowledge, law, policy, and theory.  Click here for a description of the Action.

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) have collaborated to created the Atlas of Health and Climate, a document that draws linkages between climate change and the increase in diseases such as such as diarrhoea, malaria, meningitis and dengue fever.

  • Produced by New Scientist using data from NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies Surface Temperature Analysis, Your Warming World is an interactive map that displays global climate data for last century.

  • The National Municipal Adaptation Project (NMAP) aims to assess the state of planning for adaptation and resiliency in Canadian local governments.

  • ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives), with the support of Natural Resources Canada, developed Having the Climate Conversation: Strategies for Local Governments, a resource to assist municipal staff with the task of communicating the complex issue of climate change to residents, stakeholders, elected officials, and fellow staff members.

  • Climate Change is Simple is a TEDx presentation (independently organized TED Talk) delivered at The Evergreen State College that features David Roberts, staff writer at Grist.org, communicating climate change in simple, straightforward terms.

  • The Carbon Capture Report was developed through the University of Illinois to serve as a resource for globally tracking public perceptions and new developments in the areas of climate change, carbon capture, carbon credits, alternative energy, biofuels, geothermal, hydroelectric, natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind, coal, and oil.
